A Glamzy Affair

Me & Shihui! :DThe starter for our 8 course dinner @ Pan Pacific Hotel...yummy!It was a night of fun for our company as there are performances, games and competitions being held by the host. In a way, it opens us to see the other side of one another that we don't see so often when we are working together in the office...
This is the "Bomb" game in which the 4 tables that are 'bombed' will have to select one person to be dressed up using the material provided. Lucky or not, our table is destined to put Ritawati to play the game...hahaha...lol And there...our four brave souls -- Sha, Jason Leong, Jeannie and Ritawatti! :P
And the result? Well, we couldn't decide who's the winner from their dressing so they were asked to sing a song...and Sha won from singing a Malay old folk song...coolz...*grin*
After the dinner has ended, we continue our phototaking session!
From left to right: Ling Hui, Shihui, Dawn and Me! :)All the jobs, cashcounts and CPA games really opens me to know more people from my company...it feels great and more of a sense of belonging here... Siew Tian is also the chio bu in our office with her great sense of dressing! :D
Joey, our HR lady!
She is fun, pretty and a lovely mother of 2! Thanks to her that we can always find the answer to questions in the office such as application of leave, medical benefits, staff welfare...and of course she is the one who helps the boss to give us our salaries and pay slips! :P
This is the first time for me to attend a company's dinner & dance. In the past, it is always associated with the school or even CCA. The feeling is different because we are not no longer students or youngsters who can fool around like nobody cares. For tonight's dinner, you are attending the dinner as an adult, meeting up with the people you work with everyday and even your boss whom your livelihood is depended on. And yet, besides the serious and diligent appearances they always put on in the office, you finally get to see the fun and wild sides of them...which can really surprise you much...
From the speech given by KKWong, one of our partner, our company's name "Foo Kon Tan Grant Thornton" will soon be changed to simply "Grant Thornton", following the name of our association which we are a member of it here in Singapore. Our logo will also be modified and certainly not blue (he says there are too many auditing firm using the same colour so we must have something different and outstanding...oh wells...). Our staff force has also increase from about 260 to 310 since June this year...and there are many more staff to come in so that we can hit our target to reach the 400 auditors next year. Oh gosh...that means no more space to sit in the office! *sobz* :S
For me, I kinda miss the old times. Or maybe, this is still something new to me that I don't get used to. While some of them went clubbing and drinking after the session, I decided to go home, for the very first time I went home so early after such dinners. It is not that I feel tired, I just don't want to go chiong and all those so much anymore. Those I have lost my interest for a long time now. It is actually a bit shocking after seeing how many colleagues getting drunk after the dinner, some laze around the hall outside the ballroom, some puke, and most wobble around feebly with friends beside them in case they fell...so is alcohol really a mean of socialising in the business industry? Don't know since when, I start to appreciate the joy of simply lazing at home, surfing online or simply staring at the TV and do nothing...
As I realise something last night, part of me keeps thinking about it which I shouldn't. It kinda bothers me much again. How I wish I never come to see what it is written. It will be good if it is true to what I think but why do I feel so sad? Isn't this a sign that I long to see for so long? Why is it so painful and fearful when such thing appears??
God, help me...let go and let it be if there is still such longing in my heart...
