Highlights of the mundane working life =)

Being there as a reserve player for the basketball girls. Although we didn't win Deloitte, who probably has quite a few good players (like no. 11, ex-national player, and no. 7, ex-NTU IVP player). Our girls still did their best and did well...good job and proud of u guys manz...lol *smile*The big group of supporters for the game...I am just glad that they came because it certainly is a morale booster... :DFarewell to the 9 VTs (vacation trainees) who are leaving today.

Clockwise from left: CK, Jason Leong, Meng Hwa, Peter, Me, Winnie, Kona, and Radhika.

Here we got to say bye to Winnie and Kona who are going back to Hong Kong tml...well TAKE CARE GALS! *hugz* :))
Cyril, the other VT from Hong Kong City University. Know him through a few cashcounts together...will miss you too buddy... :)Even though the Mooncake Festival is still some time ahead, Meng Hwa bought a box of them from Raffles Hotel...the Mini Snow-Skin Mooncake with Champagne Truffle & Ganache! *drool*

THANKS to Meng Hwa for the yumilicious, probably the BEST mooncake I have ever tasted! :DThis is the so-called LEGENDARY Raffles Hotel Mooncakes...well I mean that was what was written on the brochure...heehee... :P The filling is pretty classy like champagne and cognac and chocolate truffles being used. This is ABSOLUTELY NOT the traditional Chinese mooncakes we used to have but possibility the best evidence of the growing Chinese-Western fusion culture.. :) THANK YOU for queueing up for the doughnuts from the Doughnut Factory! :D

The doughnuts certainly looks good-tasting from the iconic orange box that you shouldn't be able to miss while you are shopping around at the basement of the Raffles City... :)

Though I have tried it out at last, the question still leaves in head: WHY would people queue up for hours just to get these doughnuts? It certainly tastes good but just probably not to the extent that I will spend so much time to get it...or maybe the joy of getting it is the process of queueing up too...isn't it? :PThe guys: (from left to right) Meng Hwa, Weiming, Junyuan, Peter, CK and JasonSwensen Ice-Cream Cake! :DJunyuan helping with the cutting of the cake. :)

The VTs bought 2 cakes for us as a farewell today...so sweet and nice of them...*touched*

Weiming and Junyuan are probably the luckiest guys in FKT...taking photo with all the pretty gals wor...hahaha...lol *bleah*

Take care Darell, Weiming, Junyuan, Winnie, Kona, Cyril, Darren and Bernard! We will miss your presence in the office guys...see ya and all the best to you all back in schools ya? :)

Convocation 2007

NTU undergrad life has finally drawn a fullstop here.

Here's the memories of me in the very suit that I have been waiting to wear for almost 20 years of my life...hahaha...or maybe not just me... *wink* :P
From left to right: Vincent, Me, Zhiwei and Joe (@ orange block 4th floor)

The very place where we had our steamboat, TCS, and lao yu sheng during the CNY period. :)Hall 5 Canteen!

Why do they only renovate this place AFTER we left??! Sigh...*pout* :(Gifts brought back from New York by Joe! :DThe friendly Can B fruit stall uncle, who took over hall 5 canteen, wants a picture of us when he saw us there. He even wanna put our photo with him at his stall...well but...we probably forget to send him the softcopy ba... :PThe bridge that connects Yunnan Garden to the extension outside.

It is memorable to us coz we had been climbing over this gate whenever we came back late after our supper gathering...for the past 3 years liao... :)Yunnan Garden is certainly the best place in NTU to take graduate photos together...right? :PThe old school gate of the former Nanyang University. The Three NBS Graduates!Nanyang Lake!

Whenever there is a birthday celebration, it is very likely to end up here...hee hee hee...*grinz*Take a closer look at this photo...see a difference? :P

Don't know why Joe is so happy that day...hahaha...lolChinese Heritage Centre! We are trying HARD to take a good shot with us throwing our caps up in the air...and you can see how many NGs we got to take manz...lol

This is our best shot manz...hahaha...HOORAY! :DD

Of coz we'll not forget to take picture with the Hall 4 Canteen aunty...our favourite zhu char for dinner! :D Gonna miss her cooking and her hospitality manz... *smilez*

Our photoshoot has not ended at NTU. We took a cab down to Esplanade to take more pictures, something that really represents Singapore...hahaha...it's a pity Vic missed all these manz...lol

My solo shot! :P

I like the rooftop garden of Esplanade...the place is pretty as you overlook the Singapore River here... :)

Thank God for you guys manz...I can only imagine how my life in NTU will be like if I never stay in hall...probably sad...hahaha...lol

Most of us already started working now...this picture seems to suit us perfectly right now... :)

We also met another group of NTU graduates who came over to take photos together...so qiao! :D Hahaha...ALL THE BEST TO EVERYONE! *jiayou!* :)

Convocation photos without taking with my parents are certainly NOT complete! The most unfortunate thing is that on the actual day of my convocation, I forgot to take my camera, the one I put in my bag everyday without fail, to NTU! (coz I left it at home to charge that very morning and forgot to take it as I left in a hurry...*sobz*)

Since I haven't collected my studio photos yet (will show you guys IF I have a softcopy :P), these are just all that I've got...haiz...memories of the day that my parents have been waiting for all these years...well I know they are and they are proud of me too...thank you to both my parents and my Father in heaven... :)

The S3 tutorial and seminar rooms...hahaha...how can I forget this place manz...lol

Mummy & Daddy! :D

They are pretty happy to be here...hahaha...lol

I finally manage to make it to this day, the day I really want to make my parents feel proud of me...one of the best ways I know to show my gratitude to all the years for raising me up... :)

PS: Daddy came all the way back from China just to attend my graduation ceremony k...even for just a few days I feel so touched...*sobz* :S

Finally...I am a GRADUATE!!! :DD

Thank God for giving me the wisdom to pass all my exams and making my parents happy.

Thank God for letting my parent came for my graduation ceremony and be proud of their very own daughter.

Thank God for being here with me always as I face the new changes ahead of me after graduate.

Guide me and use me my Lord as I want to shine for you too...hope you'll be proud of me too... :)

"Went to be the backup for the basketball game for my company tonight and they played well. Next Saturday will be the netball match...hope I can play well for it ba...Jia You! :D"

Europe Trip: Austria > Vienna -- The Winey Experience! (29/05/07)

Trying to make a difference in exploring Vienna, Daryl and I decided to follow what the map for backpackers say and went out for Grinzing to find vineyards. At the metro station, we saw this weird but stylish looking building...coolz sia...lol Finally, after travelling on railway, tram and bus, we are here at Grinzing! :D
There are many vineyards around Grinzing for people to go and enjoy good wines...woohoo! :DDGrinzing is a very small, ulu but cozy town, with a strong suburban character...I love it here!Saw this super big dog with a cool-dude centre-parting haircut...heyz what's up dude! :PFarmhouses at Cobenzl, somewhere in the middle of the hill...feel so much to be like a kid to run down to chase those duckies! *bleah* :PCafes and restaurants can be found here but not cheap. It will be worth to pay for something scenic and special if you meant it to be special... :)VINEYARDS!!! :DHowever, we couldn't manage to find the entrance to the vineyard. Hence, we can only take photos from the outside...sigh...oh well the grapes are probably sour hor? Hee... :PFinally reaching the top -- Kahlenberg!

This is the place where you can have an overview of Vienna...beautiful manz...lolAs it is not developed yet (though a hotel is opening soon in September), there is only a church, a drink stall and a tourist shop here. We find a nature trial behind the church and we decided to take a walk to see what's there...After walking like 15 minutes, we finally saw a restaurant here but it was not opened yet...well if only we could have a cup of coffee here...sigh... *sadz*Return back to Grinzing. Even though we cannot find the vineyard, we manage to find a row of winehouses back in Grinzing.

See the lamp post there? It is made of crystal to look like grapes hanging up there...so pretty!!!Wish I can get one of these bottles back home but my backpacking bag cannot take them in...what a pity manz... *big cry* :'( Nothing beats having a great high tea at such a wonderful place...and cheers to my favourite applestrudel!!! :DD
Winehouse with a vineyard setting...love it! *bleam*The restaurant is opened only at night so we just came here for a drink...nice place! :)This is probably the best wine I have ever tasted...straight from the wine barrel!!! :D

And they only cost EUR 2.20 (SGD 4.40)...Mum I don't want to come home le! Hahaha...lol Love every bits of this place... :)
Since the day is still early for us, we head down to Wiener Prater, the amusement park! :D

Bottom right picture shows the famous The Riesenrad, super huge ferris wheel and an icon of Wiener Prater. But we didn't take a ride on it as it is super expensive to go up there...
We play many rounds of Go-Kart, the favourite for both of us, and guess who win all the game? *smug* :PI feel like a small kid here as I've never been to such a big amusement park ever in my life...I have so much fun!!! :DDDaryl didn't dare to take this roller coaster ride so I am all alone...well I am strong woman right? :PThe ride is FANTASTIC as you basically lay horizontally as the tram go...super fun manz...WOOHOO!!! :DThis machine looks scary...I dare you manz...lolHere's the brave me again...waiting to be flung up in the air manz...and THAT is the scary part...I think I sream the most for this ride...hahaha...lolHaunted House!
Wanna play in one of these ever since young coz I've a likings to scare myself to death in the dark...so here's my childhood dream come true!!! :DWe often see such places in the Western movies, but to come here and experience it ourselves...it is truly something very different...Overlooking Wiener Prater from the ferris wheel...feeling so joyous and happy... :)Maybe I lack of childhood in such an amusement park, this is certainly something unforgettable for an old child like me now...hahaha...lol

Thanks Daryl for bringing me here! Hahaha...say CHEEZE! :P

Vienna, as a whole, is lovely and probably the best place for all music lovers. I am not totally into music but yet I still enjoy and appreciate a musical concert. If ever there is a chance, I wouldn't mind just coming over here to study music...it will feel all so great manz...hahaha...lol

But the best part of this trip to Vienna is still the Search for the Vineyard!!! :D Even in the end we didn't manage to visit one on our own, the glass of wine from one of the winehouses is simply superb-fabulous!!! :DD The BEST wine I have ever tasted so far manz...lol And I will miss the cosiness of the small town of Grinzing, which gives me something that I really didn't expect from visiting Vienna.

Thank God for this wonderful trip! :)
